Finn Rosholm

Finn Røsholm has been working with clematis for many years, but rather more intensively since he retired from engineering in 2002. He has a small garden in Oslo, Norway, and together with a small greenhouse (some 10 square metres) he has room for 100-150 clematis. He does not (yet!) cross clematis in a systematic fashion but gathers and germinates seeds from his own freely pollenated plants and seed distributed by the various clematis societies. He is a member of the International, Swedish and British Clematis Societies.

Finn says that his seed raising produces many new clematis plants each year and that he always gets very excited waiting for the first flowers – you never know what to expect. With the large-flowered hybrids and even with the atragenes you can sometimes get very surprising colour combinations.
