Clematis 'Mevrouw Le Coultre'

Large rounded white flowers with gold stamens. 'Mevrouw Le Coultre' is extremely similar to 'Marie Boisselot' which is sometimes (wrongly) listed as a synonym. Victoria Matthews, the International Clematis Registrar, notes that the anthers on 'Marie Boisselot' are completely yellow whilst on 'Mevrouw Le Coultre' the connectives quickly go black at the tip - as shown in the bottom photograph. 'Mevrouw Le Coultre' is said to be more hardy than Marie Boisselot; in warmer climes it will flower on old wood.
