Clematis 'Stella' (Jackman)

Pale violet or deep mauve flowers with a reddish plum-purple bar. Chocolate anthers. According to Johnson, the flowers are fragrant with a "fine scent of cowslip". This cultivar is mentioned by Markham (1935) and Whitehead (1959) but now appears to be lost from cultivation - please contact us if you know otherwise. Not to be confused with a viticella hybrid of the same name raised by Markham around 1937.
