Clematis on the Web :: clematis detail
Clematis armandii 'Snowdrift'

White scented flowers, may be tinged green, or pink outside near the base. Evergreen foliage is initially copper-coloured but turns dark green. Requires shelter from strong winds.

The International Register makes two points about this form: first that a lot of plants sold as 'Snowdrift' are not the true form and, second, that there is a variation in the sepal size. This second point is illustrated by the first two photos. Ton Hannink's 'Snowdrift' has quite narrow tepals (N Europe), whilst Peer Sorensen's has considerably wider ones (New Zealand).

Note that some forms of armandii may be toxic to animals, especially dogs.
