Clematis 'Claude de Lorraine'

Double flowers, dark blue-violet. The last listing given by Magnus Johnson for this cultivar is in 1935. Riekstina has 'Claude le Sorrain' on a list of 77 cultivars introduced into Latvia between 1870 and 1910 and we guess that this is the same plant. It now appears to be lost from cultivation - please contact us if you know otherwise. Named after Claude de Lorraine a French nobleman in the first half of the 16th century.
