Clematis 'Countess of Lovelace'

Large double mauve-blue flowers in May and June. Single flowers in August. Creamy-yellow anthers on white filaments. Some people claim to detect a scent. In 1912, William Robinson in his book 'The Virgin's Bower' lists this cultivar as "trusted to give lovely effects if culture and position be all [it] deserves," quite interesting as he was anything but a fan of double forms.
