Clematis 'Aili'
This cultivar is mentioned by Vilhelmine Riekstina in 1986 but without any explanation or description other than that it was bred by M Sharonova (presumably, therefore, in Moscow) and introduced in 1975. We believe that is is lost to cultivation. Given that the breeder had earlier introduced a cultivar 'Uno' named after Uno Kivistik, the Estonian clematis breeder, it seems very likely that this one is named after Aili, his wife.
