Clematis 'Drosy Wollton'

This name appears in a Japanese book in 1986 and raises suspicions that it could be 'Dorothy Walton' (properly known as 'Bagatelle') mis-spelt; the International Clematis Register and Checklist lists them as the same thing. However the photograph is apparently different (according to Magnus Johnson) and the description differs somewhat.

Pale violet flowers with a strong purple-red bar (DW's isn't really 'strong'), 8 tepals (DW usually has six or less), purple anthers. It also claims to flower in May which a hard-pruned DW would not (but what about unpruned?).

Be a bit suspicious about this one.
