Clematis terniflora var mandshurica

Masses of small white, star-shaped flowers with a sweet aniseed scent. Plant in a sunny position to enhance the scent. This herbaceous species, closely related to C. recta is non-clinging for the first metre or so. After this the leaf stalks begin grasping for nearby support.

We originally listed this as Clematis mandshurica, following practice at the time, but it is now considered to be more correctly Clematis terniflora var mandshurica
