Clematis 'Adrian James'

Large blue-purple flowers with a red bar which change progressively to a deep, velvety blue purple. Deep burgundy stamens. A long white tip develops on flowers later in the season. The plant was raised in Australia where specimens flower continuously from September to late April or early May. This is an exceptionally long season that translates to March - October in the Northern hemisphere. The cultivar is named after the late son of the breeders who was tragically murdered.
