Clematis montana var wilsonii

White flowers with the delicious scent of hot chocolate. Plant in a position where the flowers will be warmed by the afternoon sun and enjoy the early evening fragrance. Originally introduced from China by Wilson c.1909, this is another variety which has become mixed up. Early descriptions called this 'the autumn flowering montana'. The form grown these days is only slightly later flowering than other montana types, sometimes continuing into July.
