Clematis 'Asao'

Large deep pink veining in the paler central bar. Filaments and anthers are yellow. Single or semi-double. This Japanese variety was introduced into the UK early in the 1980s. 'Asao' is named after the vlllage Asao. In the spring, the new foliage has a bronze cast.
