This is an extraordinary form. Originally it was named 'Mushi' meaning 'insect' because the stamens bend like insect legs (see top flower in photograph) but the commercial grower did not like it and so it was changed to 'Mushi', same transliteration but different glyphs, meaning 'neglect'. The plant can also produce white stamens which do not open. Both forms can appear on one plant, as shown.
