Clematis 'Murasaki no ue'

Small, bell-shaped, nodding or drooping flowers. Outside greyish purple with scattered white hairs, inside pale green with a broad green bar at the base shading to greyish purple at the top. Creamy white anthers and pale green filaments. Fruit-heads persistent. Named after one of the characters in the tale of Genji (Genji monogatari, a very old Japanese novel), though "Murasaki" also means "purple".
