Clematis 'Supernova'

Large, double, flattish flowers opening deep pink along broad midrib, shading to narrow, mid-pink margins, the margins becoming broader and paler - to very pale pink - with age. Filaments and anthers white. Whilst the parentage is unknown, Robin Mitchell suspects that this is 'Star Burst' self-seeded - although 'Evipo039' DIAMANTHINA was briefly grown nearby and may have been involved.

Not to be confused with SUPER NOVA from Wim Snoeijer in Holland.

Further detail:	Flower diameter: 16cm Tepals: (5-) 8; 6cm long, 4cm wide, broadly elliptic, long-pointed, margins folding inwards in young flowers, touching and wavy. Staminodes numerous, white with a central pink stripe, 3cm long, 1.5 cm wide, oval, long-pointed.
