Small red-purple flowers, shading from pale purplish pink veins over a whitish ground in throat (ageing darker) to deep purplish red along upper midvein and at tip; outside pinkish white near base, shading to deep purplish red near tip. Filaments and anthers yellow. Fruit-heads persistent.
