Medium-sized, white flowers. Filaments greenish when young, maturing creamy white; anthers pale yellow. Vanilla- or chocolate-scented.

Name after Lady Ashdown (née Courtenay), wife of the British politician Lord Ashdown of Norton-sub-Hamdon.
