Clematis 'Saturn' (Pennell)

Very large lavender blue tepals with subtle mauve (some say maroon) bar. White filaments, dark purple anthers. In 1978, after his death, this variety was named in connection with his love of astronomy. This is the original 'Saturn', not to be confused with the later Russian introduction of the same name from M Orlov.
