Small- to medium-sized, deep violet flowers tinged dark greyish-purple when young. Filaments strong violet at base, creamy white above, ageing white; connectives brilliant yellow becoming brown; anthers pale yellow-green. The breeder places this in the diversifolia group which the International Clematis Register and Checklist 2002 includes within the integrifolia group.
This cultivar produces very decorative, silvery seedheads which are marketed by Marginpar seperately as 'cut flowers' under the name AMAZING KIBO. Kibo is named after one of the tops of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
