Clematis terniflora

(formerly C. maximowicziana) Small, white sweetly scented flowers with green-white filaments and creamy anthers. Semi-evergreen in mild winters.

Some authorities suggest that two forms can be distinguished: terniflora var terniflora (see first picture) and terniflora var robusta (second and bud pictures), this last is said to be a hexaploid plant. Christopher Grey-Wilson in Clematis The Genus notes that the two forms cannot be satisfactorily distinguished in the wild.
