Clematis 'Caroline Lloyd'

Beautiful half-nodding, semi-double flowers. The outer tepals are blue-purple, fading to cream at the base. The inner tepals are a paler mauve shade. Below each flower there is a pair of tepal-like leaves, green with blotches of purple. The stamens are greenish-yellow. This curious seedling of C. viticella originates from the beautiful garden of Mrs. Caroline Lloyd, where it has grown for many years on a shady wall.
