Clematis 'Empress of India'

Large, sometimes very large, violet purple, mauve red or creamy red flowers with a darker purple or red bar. Cream-yellow or beige anthers on whitish filaments. This form was unavailable for many years but was re-introduced from the USA in the 1980s by Raymond Evison.
