Clematis armandii 'Little White Charm'

This clematis was originally grown by Jan Fopma (Boskoop Nursery) as C meyeniana, introduced from Hong Kong via the UK before 1995. In 1996 it was included in Wim Snoeijer's 'checklist of clematis grown in Holland' as armandii meyeniana. In 1998 it was given the cultivar name 'Little White Charm' to avoid confusion with the true species form.

The cultivar is very fragrant, bearing white or cream flowers over leathery, evergreen foliage. The form is not hardy in Holland and needs a frost-free greenhouse or conservatory.

Note that some forms of armandii may be toxic to animals, especially dogs.
