Clematis 'Atrorubens'

Bell-shaped, rose-carmine flowers with green stamens. This name appears in Spingarn's 1935 lists but the form now seems lost to cultivation. If you know otherwise, or have further details, please get in touch. Magnus Johnson notes that this "was the mother in the crossing with lanuginosa in 1858 that resulted in 'Jackmani' and others."
