Clematis 'Spooneri Rosea'

Small to medium deep pink flowers with yellow anthers. Bronze, downy foliage. Requires a sunny, sheltered position with free-draining soil.

The International Clematis Register and Checklist 2002 notes that "In 1917, Vilmorin crossed both C. x vedrariensis and C. montana var rubens with pollen of the then recently imported C. spooneri. Plants from both crosses were very similar to one another ... and were distributed and sold under the name C. spooneri rosea."
