Clematis 'Maroon One'

Medium to large, cup-shaped flowers becoming flat or flattish after a week or so. Opening light yellow-green, darkens through moderate purple-pink to a strong purple red with a purple bar and darkening yet further as the flower opens fully. Filaments pale yellow-green at base; connectives light purple; anthers dark purple. Seed heads persistent.
