Clematis 'Valge Daam'

Large, bluish-white flowers with beige anthers. Some authorities suggest that this cultivar should be treated as a Group 3. According to Robin Savill: "The name 'Valge Daam' means 'White Lady' and was inspired by an old Estonian tale of a fair-haired maiden who was punished by being bricked into the walls of the castle at Haapsalu. According to legend, her ghostly figure is said to appear at the castle windows each August."
