Clematis 'Vostok'

Reddish-purple flowers with a red bar. Deep veining of the tepals gives a textured appearance. White filaments with yellow anthers. Raised by M. Orlov of Kiev in 1963. The name means 'The Orient'. A magnificent cultivar, only recently introduced into the U.K. Awarded a BCS Certificate of Merit (2000) and the Valarasan-Toomey silver medal (2000).
