Clematis 'W E Gladstone'

Very large blue-lilac flowers, at first with a pinky red bar that fades with age. Grey-purple or dark red anthers on white or cream filaments (often tinged purple just under the anthers). Introduced in 1881 by Charles Noble and named after the then Prime Minister.
