Clematis 'Sialia'

Macropetala type. Clear mid-blue outer tepals which open flat to reveal paler blue petaloid staminodes. This beautiful cultivar, which gets its name from the Latin name of the bluebird (sialia sialis), appeared as a chance seedling at the nursery of Magnus Johnson, Sweden, and was discovered around 1985. The flowers are extremely beautiful and most unusual, almost like blue daffodils.
