Clematis texensis

Small urn- to egg-shaped flowers, much narrower towards the mouth. Scarlet-red to carmine-red outside, cream or yellowish inside (occasionally red); white filaments, pale yellow anthers.

Rarely offered in the UK, more often in the US where texensis (Tarpley River form), with a particularly long flower, is popular with enthusiasts.
