Medium sized flowers opening red-purple, maturing to purple but sometimes retaining irregular red-purple markings on bar, elliptic, overlapping. Filaments greenish yellow; anthers dark purple. The cultivar is named for the breeder's father who, with his wife, produced very many clematis cultivars. Not to be confused with the Russian cultivar 'Uno' also named after him.
