Small, broadly bell-shaped, flowers outside light purple; inside with light purple margins and tips about paler, whitish bar (which develops more strongly with age). Filaments light purple; connectives reddish purple; anthers yellow. Fruit-heads persistent.
Named after a close friend and work colleague of the raiser, who died in July 2012 "well before his time".
