Small, bell-shaped or urn-shaped, drooping flowers, outside lavender to violet-blue or red-purple tending to cream at the tips, inside pale green or yellow. Pale yellow anthers on white filaments. Introduced into the UK from from eastern U.S.A. in 1730.
