Clematis 'Kiev'
Deep purple flowers, held on very long stalks, with prominent yellow filaments and purple anthers. Whilst visiting Kiev Botanical Garden, Mr Erich Pranno of Estonia took a stem from an un-named seedling raised there by M Orlov and, after returning home, successfully propagated it. He named it 'Kiev' after the Ukranian capital city. Mr Orlov later visited the Mr Pranno's garden and agreed with the name.
